Kids First Pediatrics was established in September of 2016 to provide a new and exciting home for pediatric healthcare in Jackson County.


At Kids First Pediatrics, we pride ourselves in providing the latest advances in healthcare and technology while maintaining personal care and hometown charm. We strive to recognize each child's individual needs when planning care, to communicate clearly and appropriately with our patients and parents concerning a child's condition and care, and to provide patients and families with a child-friendly, comfortable, and fun office.

 

Our mission is to make a positive experience out of every child's visit to Kids First Pediatrics!

Our Team

Dr. Olivia Elliott Peters

Dr. Elliott was born and raised in Bowie, Maryland. She received her undergraduate degree from Oakwood University, her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, and completed her internship and residency at The Herman & Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai. Dr. Elliott worked in Wadesboro, NC with her mother from 2008-2021. From 2021 to 2023, she worked as locum tenens in North Carolina, Alabama, and Hawaii. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been at KFP since Fall 2023.  Dr. Elliott is driven by a love and dedication to bringing quality healthcare to areas with less access to pediatric specialists.  

She has been married to her husband, Gregory Peters, since 2004. He is a physical therapist currently teaching at their Alma Mater, Oakwood University. They have two wonderful daughters.

Dr. Elliott enjoys baking, crocheting, reading, volunteering at health fairs, and spending time with her family- especially at the beach.

Stephanie Phillips - DNPCRNP, FNP-C 

Stephanie Phillips is a certified Nurse Practitioner who has lived in Jackson County her entire life.  She attended undergraduate studies at Northeast Alabama Community College and went on to finish her studies at UAH.   She proudly follows in the footsteps of her Mother, who was a nurse for a beloved Pediatrician in the area.  Growing up in an atmosphere quickly fostered a love for Pediatrics.  Stephanie has worked as a Nurse Practitioner since 2010.  With her passion for pediatrics, Stephanie loves building relationships with her patients' families, focusing on their safety, wellness, and overall mental and physical health.  As a mother of two girls, Stephanie understands the importance of our patients' families' feeling heard and understood.   In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with friends, spending time with her dog, Mocha, watching movies, volunteering at her church, and cooking.

Stephanie's most recent accomplishment is obtaining her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from UAH in December 2025.

Maura Galvez - PNP 

Mrs. Maura grew up in the small town of Fyffe, Alabama & earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Alabama in 2014. She later completed her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree in 2019. She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.   Prior to joining KFP, she worked in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Huntsville Hospital where she gained extensive experience caring for children in acute and urgent settings. 

Maura is married and the proud mother of four children. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.   Her personal and professional experiences give her a strong passion for providing family-centered pediatric care.

Haley Fielder - PNP

Mrs. Haley was born and raised in Scottsboro, Alabama, and began her nursing career in 2013 after graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of South Alabama. She then returned to complete her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree in 2018. She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She joined KFP in Fall 2023, bringing with her 10 years of experience working in pediatrics prior to joining the team at KFP.

Mrs. Haley is passionate about connecting with families and providing excellent, compassionate care to her patients. She believes building strong relationships with patients and caregivers is key to delivering high-quality pediatric care.  She lives in Scottsboro with her husband, Blake. They have a son and a daughter. Outside of work, she is a member of Scottsboro Junior Progress and enjoys traveling and working in her flower beds.
